Silver Fingerprint Keepsake Jewellery

These are bespoke, handcrafted gifts that will be treasured by any recipient.  They are high quality, beautiful and individual jewellery keepsakes made from metal clay.

Silver Keepsakes training courses have been a top-selling training course and many businesses claim that it is one of their most popular services.

Fingerprints or artwork can be pressed into metal clay that once fired becomes Fine Silver (99.9%) or in the case of the gold clay, 22 carat Gold.  The metal clay is composed of fine metal (Silver or Gold) particles suspended in a non-toxic “organic binder” which gives it a consistency similar to clay or play dough.  During the firing process the “organic binder” is burnt away leaving pure silver or gold.  The two main metal clay manufacturers are Art Clay and Precious Metal Clay (PMC).  We sell Art Clay Silver.

The metal clay can be rolled, shaped, moulded and textured and will delight anyone who is interested in designing and manufacturing their own jewellery.   It appeals to both professional jewellery makers and the novice crafters.

We also sell silver clay starter kits and highly recommend the Prometheus Pro 1 desktop kiln for firing precious metal clay. Suprisingly, it is even possible to "fire" the clay using a gas hob on a domestic cooker.  Please note that there are some regulations regarding the sale of silver products - it is part of the Hallmarking Act 1973.

Developed in Japan in the early 1990s, metal clay represents a dramatic development in the handling of precious metals for jewellery making. Metal clay consists of microscopic particles of silver or gold suspended in a pliable organic binder that can be worked with the hands and simple household tools, eliminating the need for difficult metalworking processes such as soldering, hammering, and cutting.

These make perfect gifts for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christenings, Weddings, Christmas and even a special birthday present.
